- What do I gain by converting to ASS if SRT has no styling to begin with?
- Nothing is added automatically — the converted file just gives you an ASS skeleton (a default style, correctly timed events) to start styling in an editor like Aegisub, instead of building one from scratch.
- Why does the timing look slightly different after conversion?
- SRT times to the millisecond (00:00:01,000); ASS only goes to the centisecond (0:00:01.00). The conversion rounds to the nearest centisecond, so cues can shift by up to 5 milliseconds.
