- What happens to fonts, colors and positioning?
- They're removed. SRT has no concept of styling, so every override tag and style assignment is stripped out — only the plain dialogue text and its timing survive.
- Why would I strip the styling on purpose?
- Plenty of platforms reject .ass uploads outright and only take plain SRT. If you just need the dialogue to caption a video somewhere that doesn't render ASS styling anyway, converting removes the parts that wouldn't display correctly there.
