How do you get an end time out of a format that doesn't state one?
Each cue's end is inferred from the next sync point in the file — a blank one if there's a real gap, or the next cue's start if they run back-to-back. That inferred moment becomes the explicit end time SRT requires.
Will the converted timing match exactly what I saw during playback?
As long as the original SAMI file used sync points consistently (a blank one whenever a cue should disappear), yes — the inferred end times reproduce the same on-screen timing.
